Sincerely honored to have work included in the New Impressions 2023 exhibition produced by the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum of Two Rivers, WI. The letterpress print, “12-line Ornamental Condensed Type Specimen, Mixed Tape,” produced in 2022 was selected to be included in the exhibition. The print is a full typeface design made with 18-point metal ornaments: all lowercase and uppercase letters, figures and punctuation. New Impressions 2023 is an international, juried exhibition to showcase exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques. From this age-old tradition, the exhibition strives to challenge and inspire artists to continue the love of printing. Work from 42 artists is included in the exhibition, from several countries including Brazil, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, UK and the USA. Base Press is honored to have been included in this very important exhibition of letterpress work for the fourth time. The exhibition will be on display at Hamilton from April through July, 2023, and then I believe there are plans for the exhibition to travel after that.
